Did You know?...

... that Vienna is the imperial city? Vienna was the center of the Habsburg Empire for several centuries. Among other things, this can be attributed to its wonderful landmarks, wide boulevards and magnificent parks. The city was home to world-famous artists such as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms or Schiele, whose works are still held in high esteem in museums and concert halls. So it is not for nothing that the Austrian capital has been a popular excursion destination for decades, with wonderful sights, mouth-watering food and great entertainment opportunities waiting for its visitors. When traveling to Vienna, we definitely start sightseeing in the Old Town (Altstadt). Passing along the Ring - one of the city's busiest boulevards - we can see the world-famous Opera House, then continuing to Mária Terézia square we will find the Museums of Fine Arts and Natural Sciences facing each other. It is worth lingering here, and culture lovers should feel free to visit the various exhibitions. After making a 180-degree turn and crossing the zebra crossing, we find ourselves in front of the west entrance of the Hofburg. Let's move on, in the meantime let's take a look at the palace, where we can see a Sissy exhibition. The presence of the famous Viennese horse-drawn carriages indicates that we are getting closer to the building of the Spanish Riding School. The art of riding has been taught at school since the Renaissance. The building itself is one of the few surviving Renaissance-style buildings in the capital. Let us now make our way to the Stephansdom. The construction of Austria's most famous Gothic building, the Vienna Cathedral, began in the 12th century, but the Romanesque-style main entrance, the Riesentor, and the Heidentürme (Pagan Towers) flanking it on both sides date from the 13th century. The Viennese amusement park, the Prater, can be a favorite of children. The giant wheel (Wiener Riesenrad) offers a wonderful view of the Austrian capital. Be sure to visit the Schönnbrunn Palace on the outskirts of Vienna. As soon as you enter the palace, you can see the sumptuous interior of Ferenc József's summer residence, which is decorated with magnificent baroque style furniture. The palace has a huge, symmetrically arranged park, which is home to, among other things, the world's first zoo, as well as a hedge maze and a lookout point (Gloriette).Vienna is worth visiting not only in summer, but also in winter, as this is when the popular Advent fair is held. , the atmosphere of which everyone should experience at least once in their life. In such cases, a mulled wine is best, and for the little ones, a frothy hot cocoa in the extreme cold.
